Map looks nice. I was gonna give this Beta a good go this time (as opposed to the 2 hours I gave the Alpha) but the gameplay is horrible. Don't think I'll buy this, even when it's on sale.

Does it run same as the alpha? Seen on Twitter that a lot of people having problems, by the sound of things it's not looking good is it.

Hold the phone, I might be coming around to this game.

Yes there are a lot of broken things; squads are broke, the respawn system is shite, the LMG bipod animation has got me killed a lot and bipod accuracy is fooked. I'm sure I'll find many more faults but this is a Beta so I'll be giving my feedback at https://forums.battlefield.com/en-us/categories/battlefield-v-open-beta-pc-feedback nearer to the end of the week.

But the actual game runs OK, no lag or stuttering this time. Getting around 70fps @ 1440p on i7 8700k and GTX 1080. Mouse input still feels a bit woolly - I'll have a look online to see if there are any settings I need to change.

My earlier reservations were based on the clunky movement and what I perceived to be the awful gun play. Which is true for the base weapons until I realised you could spend your points upgrading them for better accuracy, faster reloads, improved aim while moving etc. DICE really need to get their shit together when presenting their game and the in-game mechanics. It's all stuff that's taken me most of the day to figure out ffs.

Oh yeah "ffs" is censored in the game chat. lol.

Strider

I reckon this is worse than the Alpha. I had laggy moments and stuttering play.  The visibility wasn't great a lot of the time.  I liked the Rotterdam map. Had problems trying to figure out why I could give ammo sometimes and not others. KE7 gun is crap.  It takes up half the screen when not aiming and it goes right across your face when running... Squads didn't work at all.
I found the gameplay very frustrating and worse than BF1. Maybe it will improve with age but so far I'm not impressed.  I had to go and have a couple of rounds of BF4 to regain my sanity.

How did you upgrade them ? I cant see how you do that.
Also the lack of sights, slow and clunky movements make me feel like I'm playing in treacle...

You have to do it from "Your Company"

Click on your class & a little "customise" box pops up. Click on that.

Click on the main weapon and a new page opens. Click on "upgrades".

You'll see in the top right of the screen there are like 'war bonds' to spend.

Starting at the top of the progression tree, it will tell you what weapon rank you need to unlock the perk and how much it will cost. The top is rank 1, the next one is rank 2, the next row are both rank 3 etc.

Simples  :P

Ok I had my first go of the beta with Ray last night. First impressions - I like it. Whilst I need to tinker around with the sensitivity settings for the mouse (in-game) the mouse input lag was hardly noticeable as it was previously. The graphics looked better and less blurry. The game played a lot smoother than the alpha.

When you go the support class - I could not throw ammo to myself but I could constantly throw it to the rest of my team mates . I think this was something that was explained on the release notes of the alpha and beta but maybe I missed it. Anyway I don't like that part. Doesnt make sense that you provide items to other people but not yourself and tbh I found this quite annoying.

All in all though - I see alot of positives from the beta - it was a lot better than I thought.

Still think the snow map is a bit shite - but  i really like the Rotterdam map.  8)

You need to hold down the 3 or 4 key (whatever your ammo pouch is on) for a second and you'll see your soldier hold up the ammo pouch & re-supply yourself. Same thing goes for med pouches. You can put crates on the ground & you need to interact with them (E key) to get ammo or meds.

I don't like that I can't fling ammo pouches around on the floor to pick up later or for team mates to pick up when needed. You can only give them to team mates when they need ammo.

*Edit: You can get a spare med pouch from the medical pick-up points which you can use if you're injured and there are no medics around. It shows up next to your health bar at the bottom of the screen. Press and hold the 5 key to use it.

Ah right that's good to know then. Cheers  8)

Also I might have another go of the beta before it finishes - but kind of getting bored of the maps and I have seen enough of it for now to know I will defintley be buying the game :)
