Title: Displaying BF1 Server Rules
Post by: Strider on 04 Jan 2019 12:46
As a response to a question about displaying the server rules  (we can't display them on BF1 as we did on BF4), I have created a new page with just the rules.
In BF1, if anyone requests the rules from now on, please give them the link http://alliancemultigaming.com/bf1rules.html
Alternatively, for ease of use, use the Tiny Url : http://tiny.cc/amgrules

This lays out the rules and also provides a link to the Forum, a link to request an unban etc.
Let me know if this is satisfactory or it needs to be tweaked.

Yes, it is satisfactory to me :).

So as Neox replied, we can get the links to server description and people should finally stop trolling in chat "What rules?"

Thx
Daniel

I really dont want to type them..

Thx
Daniel

Unfortunately there is no way to copy/paste or even use macros to enter text into the online chat, if that's what you mean. You have to type stuff in.

Maybe I will put the URL under some button on my macro keyboard. That is also a form of pasting  ;D

Do macros even work on bf1 ? Am sure someone tried this a while back but had no luck. I guess you could always try it erno and see how it goes.

Sure, I have a Rapoo V500 mechanical keyboard. It supports macro functions which means you can program the keys to do something different.
You just record a macro and assign it to a key. When you press the macro button on the keyboard followed by the applicable key it just replays the macro.

For example I have under the ` key (quote) the text "English in the main chat please".
As I got tired of asking those garbled character language guys (russians?) to use english in the main chat.
The 1 key has "Moderate your language please". For those raging people
I now have the url under the 2 key.

There is nothing fancy to it. The keyboard just plays back the keystrokes. Thats why it works everywhere. The computer thinks I'm actually typing it.

My keyboard has a macro function but when I set up the function on a key, in game, it didn't work. I'll have another play.

The difference could be how the manufacturer implemented it. On the rapoo v500 the keyboard is really sending those keystrokes to the computer. Other brands may have opted to let the driver do the trick. That would work with most windows applications. But a game may bypass the driver and hence it will no longer work. I'm just guessing here.

I think you are right.  I don't have a special macro function key so I expect that when the game remaps the keyboard, it ignores any prior bindings.
