Microphone issues

Right - we just had a big W10 update and suddenly my microphone stopped working. No Skype, no TS etc. Nothing wrong physically.
Aaaaaaaargh.
So, I uninstalled the headset software, reinstalled drivers, unplugged, re-plugged and faffed around all over the place.

Solution found eventually. Privacy settings in W10.
Yes, privacy settings had turned off all access to my microphone....

Well for once Windows wanted to protect you it just didn't do it right

Thanks for the tip as I'm just updating, so where are the privacy settings

    Open the Start Menu.
   Click Settings.
   Click Privacy.
   Click Microphone.
   Toggle Let apps use my microphone to On
