Title: Microphone issues

Right - we just had a big W10 update and suddenly my microphone stopped working. No Skype, no TS etc. Nothing wrong physically.
Aaaaaaaargh.
So, I uninstalled the headset software, reinstalled drivers, unplugged, re-plugged and faffed around all over the place.

Solution found eventually. Privacy settings in W10.
Yes, privacy settings had turned off all access to my microphone....  >:( >:( >:(

Well for once Windows wanted to protect you :D it just didn't do it right

    Open the Start Menu.
    Click Settings.
    Click Privacy.
    Click Microphone.
    Toggle Let apps use my microphone to On
